Position SummaryThe Activities Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive activities program that meets the social, emotional, spiritual, and recreational needs of our residents. This role works collaboratively with an Activities Assistant and other interdisciplinary team members to create meaningful daily experiences for all residents, including those who are bed‑bound.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, develop, and implement a creative, engaging, and recurring activities schedule
- Lead group and one‑on‑one activities, including for bed‑bound residents
- Encourage resident participation in crafts, music, and social activities
- Complete all required documentation, progress notes, and activity records accurately and timely
- Identify and support residents’ social, emotional, spiritual, and recreational needs through regular interaction
- Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to support individualized care plans
Candidates must meet one of the following Georgia‑approved qualifications:
- Completion of a state‑approved 36‑hour Activities Director training course
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy, or a related field
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
