Job Summary
Plan, organize, supervise, coordinate, and control the activities of the plant operations. The maintenance technician ensures the facility remains in excellent condition both inside and outside. Responsibilities include building and grounds maintenance, painting, electrical systems per state codes, plumbing systems per state codes, water source heat pumps, safety equipment, fire alarms, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and emergency and exit lighting.
Qualifications- High school graduate or equivalent; preference for individuals who have completed vocational or trade school courses.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in physical plant maintenance and engineering skills.
- Current boiler license or eligibility to become licensed as required by the state.
- Valid driver's license.
- Flexible work hours available.
- Ability to relate to residents, family members, and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances.
Frequently walks, uses hands and tools, stands, sits, reaches with hands and arms; climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, and crawls. May taste and smell during duties. Occasional lifting or moving up to 100 pounds. Requires good vision, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May work near moving mechanical parts, in high precarious places, outdoors, wet or humid conditions, and near fumes or airborne particles.
Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or heat, risk of electrical shock, radiation, and vibration is possible. Noise level is moderate.
