Sales and Service Technician

Overview

State Systems, Inc., the leading fire protection company in the Mid-South, is growing and seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Fire Protection Sales/Service Technician. This role involves sales, installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance of fire protection systems, fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting systems. It is ideal for those who are mechanically minded and enjoy providing excellent service and engaging with customers.

Compensation packages reward hard working people for their efforts. Potential compensation for the first year is $45,000 to $60,000, with the potential for top performers to earn more.

• Sell services and products within assigned territory, maintaining sales/service quotas and following established guidelines.
• Inspect, service, and install fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, and exit/emergency lighting.
• Identify prospects using creative lead generation techniques.
• Present sales presentations and proposals to prospects, highlighting the advantages of our products and services.
• Follow up with prospects and manage relationships.
• Process work orders and complete all paperwork according to approved procedures.
• Service existing book of business and new customers.

• Proficient computer skills in Windows-based software and MS Office 2000 or higher.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize with good organizational skills.
• Must have a valid driver s license and a good driving record that meets company requirements.
• Strong analytical and mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiating, and time management skills.
• Flexible style; perseverance; action oriented; interpersonal savvy.
• Aptitude for problem solving and a customer-focused, consultative sales approach.
• Ability to work a full-time schedule and pursue ambitious, results-oriented goals.

• Must be in good physical condition with no limitations.
• Must be willing to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds and carry 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Must be able to push/pull greater than 100 pounds as needed.
• Must be able to safely climb a ladder and reach a height of at least 12 ft.

This position may involve handling chemicals that may be skin and/or respiratory irritants. MSDS are available. Candidates must successfully complete an employment background investigation and drug screening.
