Job OverviewPatient Services Leads are responsible to coordinate patient meal service and special requests and needs for the Patient Dining Program. They ensure that Patient Dining Associates are adequately trained, units are properly staffed, and services meet patient comfort and compassion standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee systems and processes to ensure the strategic and operational objectives of the Patient Dining Program are accomplished.
- Supervise Patient Dining Associates and ensure they provide services such as helping patients make menu selections, assemble, and deliver/pick‑up their meal trays.
- Work with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences.
- Interact with nursing staff to evaluate patient meal selection, tray completion, delivery, and retrieval processes on a daily basis.
- Respond to patients' needs at all times and communicate problems or concerns in a timely manner following department procedures.
- Assist dietitians with monitoring patients who cannot eat through their mouth or are on liquid diets and have specific calorie counts.
- Adhere to facility confidentiality and HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO.
- Follow HACCP guidelines and other food safety systems.
- Comply with health and sanitation regulations and departmental sanitation procedures.
- Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Conduct daily associate team meetings following Morrison’s branded GR8 Start Meeting guidelines and template.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to communicate and read documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and operation and maintenance instructions.
- Aptitude for effectively operating the hospital’s ADT system and other computer‑based systems that manage patient care records.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver and push food delivery carts; reasonable accommodations can enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
