JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Education
  • Successfully completed a state established or other training program that meets the Medicare requirements or has at least one-year experience as a Patient Care Technician in a hospital, hospice, home health, or long-term care facility. Must successfully complete a written and skills evaluation test required by the agency after employment.
• Experience
  • Must demonstrate a sound knowledge base and action in care and judgment. Good communications skills. Takes oral and written instructions well‑works in a team responsibly and independently without direct supervision. Records observations and activities. Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to and communicate with primarily the geriatric population and to a lesser degree the pediatric and adult populations. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
    
    Able to assess data reflecting the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their age‑specific needs.
• Physical
  • Involves being inside and outside. Exposure to temperatures 32 degrees and less and 100 degrees or more, fumes, dust, and noise. Hearing within normal range. Frequent sitting, stooping, standing, walking, bending, pushing/pulling up to 250 pounds, carrying up to 35 pounds, and lifting up to 100 pounds. Must have reliable transportation and current drivers license valid in the state of Arkansas and automobile liability insurance.

Provides support services, under the supervision of the professional nursing/therapy staff that assist the patient or family in the achievement of physical and emotional comfort.
