The Engineering Intern supports process improvement, troubleshooting, and documentation for medical device manufacturing operations at Vantive's Mountain Home site. The facility includes injection molding (40+ presses) producing plastic components for the kidney dialysis market and cleanroom assembly lines producing Automated Peritoneal Dialysis (APD) sets. The intern will work hands‑on with engineers, technicians, and production teams to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost.

• Assist Manufacturing Engineers with process monitoring, data collection, and analysis on injection molding and assembly operations.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/6) including cycle time reduction, yield improvement, scrap reduction, and ergonomics/safety improvements.

• Participate troubleshooting on automated and semi‑automated assembly equipment by helping document symptoms, collect evidence, and validate fixes.

• Help create/update manufacturing documentation: work instructions, visual aids, standard work, process flow diagrams, and basic equipment checklists.

• Assist with time studies and capacity assessments to support staffing and line balancing recommendations.

• Support quality investigations (e.g., nonconformances, defect Pareto analysis) by compiling data, summarizing trends, and supporting corrective actions under engineer guidance.

• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to communicate findings and support implementation.

• Apply good documentation practices in a regulated environment and follow cleanroom and safety requirements.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Electrical, Controls, Automation Engineering (or closely related field)
