The Coordinator of Leadership Programs reports to the Director of Student Engagement and is responsible for the development, organization, administration, and supervision of the following areas:
- Student Government Association
- Volunteer A-State/A-State Food Pantry
- Support Leadership Center Programs
Administrative, supervision, and/or advisement of the following student development areas:
- Student Government Association
- Advise the Student Government Association and assist with planning campus events and programs.
- Consult with student staff and senators to actively seek collaborative opportunities with other department both internal and external.
- Attend all SGA meetings and provide advisement as needed.
- Advise Volunteer A-State and oversee the operation of the A-State Food Pantry.
- Seek student feedback to formulate student involvement goals and objectives and to evaluate student initiatives.
- Present workshops, trainings, and retreats on leadership and campus involvement as needed.
- Promote student involvement to encourage recruitment and retention of students.
- Fiscal management including oversight of applicable department budgets and provides transparency to student leaders.
Assist the Leadership Center staff with the management and facilitation of annual events and programs for the student body.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge of student activities programming, student leadership development skills, organizational management, research skills, counseling skills, understanding of higher education administration, personnel and fiscal management, supervision of part-time and volunteer staff, multicultural and diversity sensitivity, high ethical standards
General Days/HoursMonday - Friday
8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance
Travel to conferences and training sessions is required
Evening and weekend hours are necessary to successfully perform all job responsibilities
An earned Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and two (2) years of experience in leadership programming, student activities or related area
