Position OverviewThe Illinois Department of Children and Family Services seeks an organized, professional, and results‑oriented individual to serve as Permanency Specialist. Under general supervision, this position provides professional child welfare casework services to children and families, determines placement needs, and coordinates placement in substitute care facilities. The role also conducts interviews to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing service delivery.
Essential Functions- Serve as Permanency Specialist.
- Work with intact families and children in home or substitute care.
- Conduct interviews with clients and professionals for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Transport clients when taking protective custody or changing placement sites.
- Prepare and maintain case documentation for planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Participate in case staffings, interdisciplinary conferences, and case transfer activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
