Job Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of wound and skin care.
- Conduct regular wound care rounds, ensuring timely documentation and tracking of resident skin conditions.
- Assess resident skin integrity and document medical history related to wound care.
- Implement preventative wound care strategies in resident care plans.
- Prioritize and execute nursing interventions for wound management.
- Communicate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams regarding wound treatment needs.
- Initiate nutritional interventions to support wound healing.
- Perform direct resident care in compliance with facility policies and procedures.
- Ensure residents with incontinence receive appropriate pericare and preventative treatments.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Active Nursing License as required by the state.
- Current CPR certification.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as an RN or LPN.
- Ability to lift and move patients and items up to 75 lbs.
- Strong vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize wound care needs.
