CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
Hiring range: $15.00 per hour
(Position is FWS Eligible)
EssentialJob Duties and
Key Responsibilities
- Answer phones and enter issues into IT ticket system.
- Assist users with software and hardware problems.
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and replacement of computer equipment and multimedia systems.
- Perform general housekeeping tasks on college owned equipment to ensure clean and sanitized technology equipment.
- Assist with live events, webinars, and video conferencing.
- Assist with the daily reservation, distribution, and setup of college owned equipment.
- Perform general office responsibilities, including data entry and working with inventory.
- Perform related other duties as assigned.
- GPA of 2.0 or above.
- Must be enrolled at JJC in at least 6 credit hours.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent Customer Service skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attentiveness to detail, excellent organizational skills, initiative, and multitasking.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
- Demonstrated multicultural competence.
- Knowledge of AV and Service Desk best practices and some recent work experience.
- Ability to kneel, bend, and lift is preferred but not mandatory. Accommodations and flexible task assignments are available as needed.
- Power tools might be used.
Most duties performed indoors; some exterior may be required.
Scheduled Weekly HoursThis is a student employee position that works around your class schedule. May work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. During summer and holiday breaks (Winter/Spring), may work up to 28 hours per week with supervisor approval.
