Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist - Joliet, Illinois

Overview

This full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) role is based in an elementary school setting in Joliet, IL. The position is a contract leave assignment from April through the end of the school year, providing a valuable opportunity to serve elementary students with speech and language needs. The ideal candidate will have expertise working with school-based caseloads, particularly in pediatric settings. Experience as an SLP in schools and healthcare, completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), and holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) are highly preferred.

This role demands strong communication skills, compassion, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a supportive educational team.

• School-based SLP experience, preferably working with elementary-age children
• Completion of CFY and possession of CCC certification
• Skilled in pediatric speech and language assessment and intervention
• Experience in healthcare or clinical settings related to pediatrics is a plus
• Ability to create individualized treatment plans and work with educational staff

• Manage a full-time elementary school caseload with various speech and language disorders
• Deliver evidence-based therapy services tailored to student needs
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to promote student success
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with applicable regulations and standards
