Overview
Under the direction and supervision of the program director/team leader, the Individual Placement and Support/Supported Education Specialist (IPS) assists participants in identifying, obtaining, and maintaining employment or educational opportunities aligned with their recovery goals. Services are community-based and focused on rapid engagement rather than prolonged assessment.
Salary: $40,000-$45,000
Shift: Monday-Friday, 3 weekdays and 2 evenings
Location: Joliet, IL
Reports To: Site Supervisor
Network Or Department: Network 9
Essential Functions- Assists participants in identifying, obtaining, and maintaining employment or educational opportunities
- Willingness to be trained in the evidence-based Individual Placement and Support model
- Coordinates with the Community Support Specialist to integrate vocational and educational goals into the treatment plan
- Participates in weekly team meetings and ongoing consultation with the Team Leader
- Provides individualized coaching
- Communicates with employers or educational institutions
- Supports participants in maintaining successful employment outcomes
- Monitors progress toward recovery goals
- Maintains service records, database, and statistics
- Submits documentation for services in a timely fashion
- Ensure that all documentation and communications align with Trinity Services’ mission, values, and operational needs
- Completes daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistent and timely manner
- Handle all confidential information in a professional and secure manner
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability and knowledge of basic computer programs for service documentation and report writing
- Trained in the evidence-based Individual Placement and Support model
- Demonstrated knowledge of correct procedures for Medicaid billing
- Strong communication skills and comfort with public speaking
- Teaching skills, non-judgmental personality, and empathic listening skills
- Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard; reach, stoop, kneel to install computer equipment
- Physical activities that could be used include: pulling, pushing, standing, grasping, stooping, crouching, reaching, lifting, and repetitive motion
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field or current
- Completion of Quality Behavior Solutions (QBS) Safety Care training, CPR, and First aid (upon hire)
