BASIC FUNCTION
:
Plan, develop and implement counseling services for survivors of sexual abuse/assault.

• Provide individual and group counseling services for survivors of sexual assault following counseling standards for rape crisis centers
• Maintain a weekly schedule for individual counseling
• Develop and facilitate group counseling for survivors of sexual assault as needed by program.
• Assist with hotline and crisis intervention counseling
• Accept and execute on-call services, as needed by the program.
• Complete documentation and reports required by GACS and for contractual obligations in an appropriate and timely manner
• Communicate problems and issues of concern to the supervisor.
• Consult with GACS clinical director for support and attend required meetings required of all counselors
• Collaborate with the lead counselor and program supervisor to assure an effective counseling service delivery system
• Maintain confidentiality of client and agency information
• Assist GACS administration in any investigation against conduct that is illegal
• Other duties as assigned

• Attend staff meetings, team meetings and individual supervision

• Master’s degree in professional counseling, social work, or a related field and experience preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Forty (40) hours ICASA approved sexual assault training (can be completed upon hire)
• Sensitivity to the cultural and socio economic characteristics of persons served
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials
• Ability to work flexible hours
