Overview
Will County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is the lead agency for developing, planning, analyzing, conducting, providing, implementing, and maintaining programs for disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. This includes public preparedness activities, developing and maintaining emergency plans, coordinating, and training with stakeholders, and responding to disasters and emergencies.
ResponsibilitiesAssist at safety fairs and expos, speaking with visitors about the importance of being prepared in the event of an emergency or disaster, before it strikes; inform about hazards and emergencies that may affect them or their family; encourage the development of an emergency plan; encourage the collection and assembly of a disaster supplies kit; inform where to seek shelter from all types of hazards;
inform about community warning systems; learn what to do for specific hazards; practice and maintain your plan.
