Placement: Full time Faculty

Hiring Range: Base Compensation Hiring Range for 2026/2027 Academic Year: $63,770-$113,632/annually (9 months). Compensation placement based on education and related teaching/work experience.

Position Summary

Adapt to new and changing situations and demonstrate a positive attitude. Demonstrate respect for students; understand learning styles and apply understanding to institution-related activities; demonstrate integrity and promote diversity and open communications. Fifteen credit hours a semester constitute a standard load. Course assignments may be day, late afternoon, evening, Saturday, online, or at branch campuses or satellite centers. Position is subject to all terms and provisions of the Joliet Junior College faculty contract.

Job Duties and

Key Responsibilities

Teach a minimum of 15 credit hour load per semester in three of the following courses:
Intro to Business, Business Communications, Finance, Principles of Management, Principles of Marketing.

Work closely with other instructors and special programs and services within the college to determine placements, curriculum, and academic support.

Participate in course development, assessment, and planning activities.

Be willing to teach online and/or blended hybrid courses.

Participate in appropriate departmental meetings and recruitment activities; serve on committees.

Assist students with academic advising.

Remain informed on current trends and developments in both national and international business by attending seminars and workshops.

Participate in and/or actively lead Student Club sponsorship responsibilities.

Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and learning.

Demonstrate strong understanding and commitment to the community college mission.

Teach classes during non-traditional times (evenings and weekends) and at other campus sites as needed.

Meet other contractual obligations as spelled out in the Joliet Junior College faculty contract.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in Business, Finance or related field
Expertise in appropriate technologies for instruction
Demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning
Two years of teaching experience at collegiate level
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence
Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience at the community college level
Experience with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds
Experience in teaching online and/or using course management programs
Experience in course development and assessment, planning, quality and accreditation processes and committee service
English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency
Demonstrate multicultural competence

Physical Demands

Normal classroom physical demands, along with equipment and software.

Working Conditions

Duties are performed indoors in the usual classroom and office environment.
