Position Summary:

Messiah Lutheran Church, LCMC Association,isseekinga compassionate and motivated Pastoral Intern toassistthe pastor in carrying out the ministry and mission of the congregation. The intern will gain hands-on experience in pastoral care, worship preparation, teaching, and congregational life while serving alongside the pastor and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Assistthe pastor in visiting and providing carefor members who are sick, hospitalized, or homebound.
• Preaching and development ofsermons to preach once a month.
• Helpteach and guide confirmation classes,assisting with lesson planning and student engagement.
• Participate in worship service sand other church gatherings as appropriate.
• Attend andassistwithcongregational events, meetings, and special services.
• Support general ministry operations and help strengthen connections within the congregation.
• Maintain confidentiality and represent Messiah Lutheran Church with professionalism and Christian care.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a seminary or theological education program.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to Christian faith and values.
• Ability to work collaboratively and with compassion toward others.
• Organized, dependable, and willing to learn.

Compensation:

Part-time hourly position of 20 hours per week. Compensationcommensuratewith experience and availability.
