Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A high school special education teaching opportunity is available for motivated educators skilled in ELA instruction for 11th and 12th-grade students. This contract position is set in a supportive school environment focused on delivering tailored educational plans to meet diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching 11th and 12th-grade English Language Arts and college seminar classes
- Managing a case load of 8-10 special education students
- Developing and adapting lesson plans to create inclusive, engaging learning experiences
- Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to support student growth
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies as needed
- Communicating with parents and guardians regarding student achievements and challenges
Key qualifications:
- Certification in special education
- Experience teaching high school students, specifically 11th and 12th grades
- Strong skills in English Language Arts instruction
- Ability to design individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment
Location:
Joliet, IL
Work schedule follows school hours from 7:25 AM to 3:30 PM. This position begins ASAP with an end date of June 6th.
