Assistant Director of Accessibility Services

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate services for Students Accessibility
• Review all documentation and requests for accommodations for self‑identifying students with accessibility requests.
• Interpret medical documentation for accessibility requests.
• Determine and coordinate appropriate accommodations for each self‑identified student according to federal standards.
• Counsel and advise students with accessibility requests.
• Manage and administer budget for Office of Accessibility Services.
• Develop institutional and community links to maximize delivery of services.
• Provide assistance with assistive technology and supervise proctoring for exams.
• Serve as resource for campus personnel in dealing with issues concerning students requesting accessibility.
• Provide academic support to students within ACE.
• Guide students to develop appropriate learning strategies.
• Investigate and create assistance in new ways and formats including online.
• Offer instruction in study‑skills, test taking, reading and critical thinking to students.
• Serve as resource on learning strategies for students and faculty.
• Assist students in using ACE resources (software, reference books, and materials).
• Assist with the assessment of above services.
• Assist with the preparation of databases and reports.
• Represent ACE at various events and meetings.
• Promote the visibility of ACE resources and services through marketing.
• Assist with other projects and tasks in ACE.
• Participate in and promote a culture of continuing quality improvement.
• Other related duties as assigned.
