Overview
The Research Technician will join the Maize Transformation team within the Crop Transformation Systems focusing on Biotechnology, Trait Discovery, and Optimization. The role involves generating high-quality transgenic and genome-edited plants to support trait discovery, optimization, and product development programs.
Responsibilities- Follow all standard operating procedures to generate quality transgenic and genome editing events.
- Prepare explants and perform transformation and sub-culturing tissue during the selection process.
- Regenerate tissue to produce high-quality transgenic or genome-edited plants.
- Maintain accurate electronic and legal notebook records for all research work.
- Summarize results and note areas for improvement.
- Execute all lab work by following safety and ergonomic standards.
- Organize daily workflow to meet specified timelines.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and team communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Foster a positive attitude and work collaboratively as a team member.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Lab Technician.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

The position is based on a beautiful campus in Johnston, IA. This is a long-term contract opportunity with holiday and PTO offered. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, during the first shift.

Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
