Laboratory Technician

Job Description Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily greenhouse plant care, including pollination, transplanting, watering, harvesting, and seed management for corn, soybean, wheat, canola, and additional crop varieties.
• Support experimental procedures, assist in data collection, and maintain comprehensive records.
• Perform routine greenhouse sanitation tasks, such as disposing of regulated materials and destroying waste in accordance with safety protocols.

• High school diploma or GED required;
  Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture, entomology, or a related plant science discipline preferred but not mandatory. Alternatively, two or more years of relevant experience or equivalent education will be considered.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to standard operating procedures and safety/ergonomic guidelines are essential.
• Demonstrated communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, positive attitude, and capacity to work independently as well as within a team, with minimal supervision.
• Basic proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and the ability to learn proprietary research software.
• Ability to safely work around common chemicals as required.
