Maintenance Worker - Temp - Veterans Cemetery

This is a non-merit, temporary position. Candidates must follow the instructions in the To Apply section. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.

The hourly pay range for this position is $16.56-$23.92.

The Department of Veterans Affairs is looking for a temporary Maintenance Worker 2 to work at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, conveniently located along Interstate 80, west of Des Moines.

• Operating power tools and equipment to open and close grave sites.
• Setting and maintaining headstones.
• Preparing designated areas for services.
• Plowing snow.
• Cutting grass.
• Clearing land and performing other general landscaping duties.
