Respiratory Therapist Team Lead Nights

As a Respiratory Therapy Team Lead you will ensure the clinical needs of each child are implemented, support a multidisciplinary team approach to clinical care, and supervise staff to ensure delivery of quality care.

• Ensures staff provide care according to the child’s care plan and provide clinical care according to best practices as defined by Child Serve policy and practice manuals.
• Ensures staff document accurately, completely, and timely as defined by nursing/respiratory therapy standards or practice and Child Serve policies and procedures and provides feedback to supervisor on how the documentation system can be improved.
• Serve as a preceptor and is responsible for ensuring newly hired staff are competent to provide care.
• Responsible for effectively managing staff performance as well as developing staff skills, talents and knowledge.
• Responsible for ensuring supervised staff are current with all unit and Child Serve specific information.
• Addresses stakeholder feedback effectively, respectfully, and professionally.
• Ensures environment is maintained according to regulatory requirements. Consistently demonstrates good stewardship of Child Serve equipment, supplies, and environment.
• Provides direct care as assigned.
• Ensures adequate numbers of qualified staff to meet the needs of children within defined clinical model.
• Within the respiratory therapy scope of practice and physician’s orders, ensures the implementation of each child’s care plan and achieves the goals set forth in that care plan.

• Certification from an accredited respiratory therapy program and current licensure to practice in the state of Iowa
• Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care
• Two year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in the field of pediatrics, rehabilitation and/or with children with complex medical needs
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
