Portfolio Accountant

Poznań, Wielkopolskie, Poland

Your responsibilities

In your role as a Portfolio Accountant, you will be responsible for retail operations in one of our countries, which involve performing various moderately complex professional accounting assignments that require knowledge of the business unit, company policies, and accounting theory. This includes managing the proper valuation and accounting of the portfolio, supporting the development and growth of portfolio products, and serving as a subject matter expert.

You will also coordinate, prepare, and analyze financial information and reports that provide summary insights for management to support company financial decision-making.

  • Prepare and deliver accurate and insightful financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Calculate company revenue.
  • Manage cash operations, including cash posting, reconciliation, and allocation to contracts.
  • Participate in monthly financial closings in compliance with US GAAP for John Deere Financial and its branches/subsidiaries.
  • Prepare or oversee statistical files.
  • Prepare financial reports such as the Day 7 SEC Info Request, FFIEC 009 – Country Exposure Report, and others.
  • Calculate provisions and accruals, conduct accounting entries in Oracle Financials, and ensure proper reporting.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, including intercompany and cash transactions.
  • Support external, internal, and SOX audit processes by providing data, files, and guidelines.
  • Act as one of the primary contacts for key portfolio topics with internal departments, internal and external auditors, and other finance teams.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support various projects and initiatives.
Our requirements
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles, including financial statement analysis, reconciliations, and operational accounting.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Audit—or equivalent business experience—with at least three years of experience.
  • An effective communicator in English, both written and verbal, who thrives on challenges and enjoys contributing to a global, interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Solid experience and proficiency in the business use of MS Office, especially MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and affinity for numbers.
  • Accuracy, reliability, and consistency in task execution.
  • Solution‑oriented and result‑driven mindset.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to evolving digital tools and advanced technologies, including AI solutions.
  • Ability to work with data and draw conclusions from it.
  • Ability to plan and execute tasks independently.
  • Good communication and relationship‑building skills, flexibility, and a team‑player attitude.
Nice to have
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Power Query.
  • SAP.
  • Finance experience such as banking, retail credit, analysis, or underwriting.
  • German, Spanish or Italian language.
