Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age specific components. Responsible for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
Duties include:
* Possesses the ability to assist each patient from check-in to check-out and other responsibilities as assigned.
* Administers moderate sedation/analgesia under the immediate direct supervision of a physician who is clinically privileged to perform moderate sedation.
* Demonstrates dedication to the nursing profession and represents nursing in the community and professional activities.
* Provides education to patient, families and significant others; administers medications and treatment; participates in the quality improvement process; and is attuned to the needs of adult and geriatric patients.
* Demonstrates positive, effective communication skills, professional behaviors and
leadership that promotes a commitment to excellence, improving nursing practice, and
fostering collaboration among customers beyond the immediate practice setting.
* Makes sustained contributions to healthcare by actively participating in healthcare
facility or service-level committees or councils, establishing active relationships and
demonstrating leadership in improving care beyond the immediate practice setting.
* Initiates and leads interdisciplinary teams that utilize critical thinking to improve nursing practice beyond the immediate practice setting.
