Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift assignment, requiring a TN or compact RN license and AHA certifications.
Responsibilities
• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 18:30–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to similar units required as needed
• Patient ratios may include up to 1:7 when floated to medical-surgical units
• Involvement in nursing student support and clinical education
• General orientation and online coursework begin on Sundays
• Participation in clinical education and support for nursing students is required
• Orientation includes online and on-site components, averaging 16 hours
• Electronic modules must be completed during orientation
• Holiday coverage may be required
• No exclusivity restrictions unless previously employed by Ballad Health
• Candidates must be flexible with picking up additional shifts as hospital census requires
Requirements
• Active TN or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or related experience required
• Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Willingness to complete drug testing within 12–14 days prior to start
• Facial hair must comply with CDC fit testing guidelines
• First-time travelers will be considered
