Summary:
The Director of Warehouse Operations provides transformational, hands-on leadership for warehouse execution, inventory control, and distribution within a high-volume, heavy-inventory operation in a fast-growing organization. This highly energetic, strategic, solution-focused leader is accountable for inventory accuracy, transaction discipline, ERP/WMS performance, warehouse flow/productivity, and end-to-end material flow (onsite and offsite 3rd party warehouse)—building a high-integrity, data-driven, service-focused culture that consistently delivers speed, cost efficiency, compliance, and operational excellence while scaling to meet evolving business needs.
- Lead safe, efficient, and compliant receiving, put-away, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, and returns.
- Own best-in-class inventory accuracy and controls, including cycle counting, reconciliation, adjustments, investigations, and root-cause-driven corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive rigorous system discipline across ERP/WMS, including item master hygiene, location control, RF scanning compliance, and standardized, auditable transaction workflows.
- Establish structured, high-accountability daily/weekly operating rhythms (tier meetings, KPI reviews, labor planning) and ensure tight cross-functional alignment with Production, Planning, QA, and Procurement.
- Improve throughput, space utilization, and labor productivity using Lean, practical, and measurable methods (standard work, 5S, slotting, layout optimization).
- Ensure strong governance for training, documentation, and audit readiness; enforce zero-compromise safety, housekeeping, and policy compliance.
- Build and develop a high-performing leadership bench (managers/supervisors) through staffing plans, coaching, performance management, and succession planning to support a scaling operation.
- Manage performance-driven 3PL/outsourced logistics relationships where applicable (service, cost, inventory reconciliation, scorecards).
- Own strategic capital planning for racking, MHE, docks, WMS enhancements, and automation—supporting clear ROI, disciplined execution, and sustainable scalability.
- Bachelor's degree required (Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related).
- 10+ years of progressive warehouse/distribution experience, including leadership of teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proven success delivering material improvements in inventory accuracy and execution through strong systems, controls, and accountability (ERP/WMS).
- Strong knowledge of warehouse processes, inventory control, and material flow best practices.
- Analytical, KPI-driven leadership style with demonstrated results in productivity, service, and cost control.
- Experience in OTC / cosmetics / pharmaceutical or other regulated, quality-driven environments (GMP, lot/expiry control, traceability).
- Master’s degree (MBA/MS).
- Experience with RF scanning, labor management systems, slotting tools, and warehouse automation.
- APICS/ASCM (CPIM/CSCP), Lean/Six Sigma certifications.
