JOB SUMMARYThe HR/Payroll Specialist is responsible for supporting day‑to‑day human resources functions including onboarding, employee relations, payroll processing, and compliance. This role ensures HR processes are effectively implemented and aligned with the company’s goals, values, and legal standards. The payroll responsibilities require attention to detail in payroll processing and reporting. This position splits time with 40% being HR and 60% being Payroll.
QUALIFICATIONS- Associate’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in HR or a related role.
- Experience with commission payrolls plus.
- Solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Selerix, Pro Liant) is preferred.
- Knowledge of Business Central a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees’ questions regarding policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Support a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives.
- Assist in resolving employee issues or conflicts with professionalism and discretion.
- Prepare, process, and review bi‑monthly payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
- Process payment to 1099 contract workers management of electronic employee records
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve errors promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
- Assist with year‑end processes, including W‑2 preparation and distribution.
- Maintain compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Address employee questions related to payroll, earnings, and deductions.
- Process payroll taxes, garnishments, benefit deductions, and other with holdings.
- Collaborate with finance or accounting teams on payroll reporting and audits.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Maintain and update employee handbook and HR policies.
- Manage electronic employee records.
- Support audits and implement any corrective action required.
- Prepare HR reports such as turnover, headcount, and absenteeism.
- Provide data and insights to support business decisions.
