Elementary Minister First Christian Church

That can take many different shapes across our ministries, but FCC Kids is committed to sending the next generation out into their world as missionaries who love God, love everyone, make disciples, and share their stories.

Your primary focus will be building, equipping and communicating with FCC Kids Elementary (1st – 5th Grade) teams. These teams will include Sunday School, Elementary Worship and our Wednesday evening programming, Kid Venture.

• Executing the ministry strategies laid out by the FCC Kids Minister
• Coordinating curriculum/teaching plans with other FCC Kids staff team members
• Apprentice team members into various team positions associated with Elementary ministry, such as Sunday School Leader, Worship Team, Room Helper Team, Production Team and teams associated with our mid‑week ministry, Kid Venture
• Maintain strong volunteer teams by caring well, managing schedules, communicating clearly, ensuring needed resources are in place and consistent encouragement
• Invite new volunteer team members to participate in our Shared Recruitment Strategy
• Meet weekly with the FCC Kids Team
• Update church database with information about teams and individuals in the ministry
• Take responsibility for some aspects of large church or staff events
• Participate in FCC All‑Staff meetings, trainings, events, etc.

Nobody flies solo here. We’re a dedicated staff team and are all partners in what’s happening at FCC, so we work in unison and always have each other’s back. Your part of the equation looks like this:

• Participate fully with the FCC Kids Team by maintaining consistent office hours, taking initiative for your areas of responsibility and having a heart of service to see the entire ministry flourish
• Work with the FCC Kids Team to create and execute strategies for both maintaining and developing the FCC Kids ministry to both children and parents/guardians
• Partner with other FCC staff teams, such as Communications and Operations Teams, by submitting requests, communicating plans and offering appreciation so that our various Teams work together smoothly and effectively for overall church health

• Previous experience volunteering or serving on a church staff in Children’s Ministry
• Comfort learning and using digital software/databases to track participants
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in either childhood education or children’s ministry

• This position reports to the FCC Kids Minister
• This position is a 20 hour part‑time role that serves on the FCC Kids Team
