Accounting Bookkeeper

This is an in-person job (not remote) in Johnson City, TN. We are seeking a skilled and experienced bookkeeper to manage all financial operations for our fast-paced construction company. The ideal candidate must possess strong organizational skills, excellent time management, and proficiency in Quick Books accounting software. With a minimum of 5 years of experience as a full-charge bookkeeper, you should also have a proven track record of problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.

• Use extensive data entry to ensure all financial data is input into accounting software
• Direct all financial transactions, such as credit card and bank reconciliations, and oversee the accounts payables and receivables process
• Process invoices, checks, and payroll accurately and on time and resolve any invoice issues
• Be responsible for the accuracy of the general ledger, and journal entries, and prepare balance sheets and financial reports for review
• Collaborate with the general contractor or project manager and provide detailed financial reporting to ensure costs, timeline, and budget of construction projects are accurately forecasted
• Record financial transactions and maintain accounting records
• Prepare and manage accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare and analyze financial statements
• Cost analysis and budget preparation
• Tax filings and tax compliance
• Internal financial reporting and analysis
• Conduct audits and reconcile accounts
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards

• Excellent problem solving, analytical, organization and communication skills are needed
• Five years of previous experience in accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience in the construction industry
• Familiarity with construction accounting concepts, tax strategies, and best practices
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and accounting software, such as Quick Books
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred but not required
• Quick Books Specialist is a must
• Knowledge of accounting principles and standards (e.g., GAAP)
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work
