Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical-Surgical Location

New York

This is a 13-week contract position.

12-hour night shifts, working 36 hours per week, with every other weekend required.

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses and advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible for ensuring compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act and applicable nursing policies.

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care in managing a group of patients.
• Educate patients and their families in health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with established policies.
• Participate in staffing, time management, and resource utilization effectively.
• Comply with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and policies.
• Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education requirements.
• Provide support and mentorship to new employees and students.

• Current NYS RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• 2+ years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Experience ranging from six months to three years in nursing.
