Cardiac Telemetry RN - Stepdown/PCU Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through effective diagnosis and treatment. The RN serves as an advocate for individuals and families while ensuring compliance with all professional standards and practices.

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely, utilizing a strong knowledge of pharmacology.
• Participate in resource utilization and management of staffing and supplies.
• Comply with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support professional development and engage in continued nursing education.
• Contribute to a supportive learning environment for new staff and students.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum of six (6) months to three (3) years of nursing (RN) experience.
• Current NYS RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Experience in a cardiac telemetry department, familiar with various cardiac procedures.

This is a night shift position, requiring 36 hours per week, including every other weekend.
