Seasonal Assistant Manager – Aquatics FacilitySummary: The Seasonal Assistant Aquatics Manager assists in all aspects of aquatic operations and programming including safety standards, Swim & Dive Team, swim lessons, member service, and facility upkeep. They will provide strong, effective leadership and guidance to aquatics team members, members, and program participants. Must be available during the in-season holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day) and seasonal weekends (May through September).
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive hourly wage: $22 - 24 per hour depending on experience
- Enjoy a holiday rate of 1.5 times normal pay on Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day

- Work closely with the Aquatics Director to supervise and manage the recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of all aquatics staff
- Assist with staff schedules and payroll records as needed
- Assists in the director for new hires, schedules, and supervises swim & dive coaches and swim instructors, ensuring that all programs are well organized and safely delivered
- Assist with management of daily pool operations, maintenance, cleaning, and staffing
- Collaborates with swim team parent committee to plan and execute the swim season – includes design, order and distribute team gear
- Manage program registration and billing
- Assist Head Swim Coach with planning, management, and execution of swim team awards and incentives (practice attendance, time standards, awards, etc.)
- Plan, promote, manage, and execute all Swim & Dive team special events – home meets, family fun nights, awards banquet, etc.
- Attend all Atlanta Swim Association Swim League meetings
- Ensure that the Aquatics Center is safe & clean by performing routine walkthroughs
- Oversee aquatics safety drills and training of all staff in response to medical emergencies
- Report broken equipment, hazards, accidents or incidents to the Aquatics Director
- Maintain a professional image within the community and the AAC
- Perform administrative tasks and other duties as assigned
- Must have a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record to operate company vehicle
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Pleasant demeanor with the ability to adjust management and communication styles as needed
- Capable of delivering exceptional customer service to members and guests
- Able to effectively communicate necessary information to external departments and coworkers
- Requires physical ability to remove a grown adult from a body of water, lift a minimum of 50 lbs., reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, swim, walk, balance and climb
- Previous swim team management or coaching experience preferred
- Prior supervisory experience required
- College Degree is preferred
- Possess the following certifications, or the ability to obtain within 60 days
- Lifeguard
- Certified Pool Operator preferred
- Swim Instructor Certification preferred
- Safety Training for Swim Coaches preferred
- BLS or CPR PRO for the Professional Rescuer /AED
- First Aid
- Emergency Oxygen
