This is a Full-time contract, on-site role based in Johns Creek, GA, for a Senior Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer specializing in Rubrik and Zerto. Responsibilities include engineering, implementation, and maintenance of backup and disaster recovery systems. The engineer will perform regular system checks, troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensure data integrity, design effective backup strategies, and perform disaster recovery tests to maintain optimal system readiness.
E xtensive experience in enterprise backup platforms, specifically Rubrik and Zerto, is required. This role will focus on data protection strategy, replication, disaster recovery planning, testing, and recovery validation within a multi-site enterprise environment. The ideal candidate understands RPO/RTO requirements, DR testing workflows, and replication across production and isolated recovery environments.

Key Responsibilities Backup & Data Protection- Administer and optimize Rubrik backup environments
- Configure SLA domains and backup policies
- Manage backup lifecycle and retention policies
- Monitor backup health and capacity planning
- Configure and manage Zerto replication
- Design DR workflows for failover and failback
- Conduct DR testing and documentation
- Validate RPO/RTO compliance
- Support VMware-based environments
- Work with storage platforms (Pure, Net App, etc.)
- Integrate backup solutions with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS if applicable)
- Support isolated recovery environment (IRE) testing
- Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
- Develop DR runbooks and recovery documentation
- 7+ years of enterprise backup & DR experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Rubrik
- Strong hands-on experience with Zerto replication
- VMware administration knowledge
- Understanding of enterprise storage architecture
- Strong understanding of data protection strategies, replication technologies, and storage systems
- Experience with system troubleshooting, issue resolution, and conducting disaster recovery tests
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and infrastructure teams
- Familiarity with enterprise IT environments and compliance-related documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Relevant certifications, such as Rubrik Certified Systems Administrator or Zerto Certified Professional, preferred
