Certified Medication Technician for Memory Care Community
St. Ives Hometown Living of Johns Creek is offering a Lead Certified Medication Technician position. Pay range: $19.00/hr – $22.00/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience).
Responsibilities- Administer medication to residents, accurately recording in the EMAR, monitoring for adverse effects, and maintaining proper medication storage and safety.
- Serve as Lead on the shift, coaching CNAs to offer choices and encourage residents' independence and control during activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Adhere to protocols and guidelines ensuring health and safety, including proper lifting techniques and universal precautions.
- Encourage participation in enriching activities and programs, dedicating time for meaningful one‑on‑one interactions that brighten a resident's day.
- Monitor residents' mood, food intake, and functional status; document changes meticulously and communicate clearly to the care team.
- Provide support to colleagues, maintaining a clean environment and removing soiled items immediately.
- Act promptly on any resident crisis or emergency, using training and caregiving instincts to provide comfort and aid.
- Foster positive, respectful communication among staff, residents, and families, building a network of trust.
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a clean criminal background check.
- Hold or obtain current certification in emergency first aid and CPR.
- Complete a pre‑employment physical examination and tuberculosis screening.
- Physical strength to bend, lift, carry, and move residents safely.
- Commitment to completing training in emergency procedures, resident rights, infection control, and dementia care, and obtaining required annual continuing education hours.
- Clear communication skills: read, comprehend, write simple instructions, and speak effectively to residents, families, and staff.
- Willingness to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
