HVAC Chiller Technician

What You Will Do

As an HVAC‑Chiller Technician you will report to the Operations Team Leader, Africa HVAC Sales and support customers by executing tasks of installation, commissioning, planned and unplanned maintenance, repairs, and servicing of equipment according to Service Contracts and maintenance schedules. You will primarily work at customer sites, acting as the face of Johnson Controls and providing excellent service.

• Complete site surveys and install HVAC‑chiller equipment, ensuring careful placement to minimize damage.
• Upgrade and refurbish equipment, thoroughly test systems to analyze faults, and verify compliance with system manuals.
• Commission systems using standard configuration and commissioning tools.
• Maintain and repair installed equipment, providing bi‑weekly, monthly, or annual service according to contracts and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Respond to call‑outs promptly, test malfunctioning systems, overhaul equipment, troubleshoot and resolve problems effectively.
• Provide feedback on failures and suggested improvements to the Customer Service Manager or Technician Team Leader, and complete required paperwork.
• Identify client needs on site to obtain additional sales of equipment and services, offering value‑added consulting advice to secure repeat business.

• At least 4 years of experience in a similar position.
• Matric certificate.
• Qualified Artisan certificate.
• Valid code B driver’s license.
• Computer literacy.
• Prior chiller experience will be given preference.
