We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diagnostic Mechanic to join our team at our truck dealership located in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy-duty trucks of various brands. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting faults, performing installations, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced diagnostic testing on heavy-duty trucks to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, equipment, and software to troubleshoot and diagnose complex problems.
• Analyze diagnostic data and interpret fault codes to determine the root cause of issues.
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Repair and replace faulty components and systems, ensuring proper functionality and performance.
• Perform software updates and calibrations as required to address vehicle issues.
• Document all diagnostic procedures, findings, and repairs accurately and comprehensively.
• Collaborate with other technicians and team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
• Provide guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices as needed

Requirements:

• Computer Literacy is essential and Red Seal qualification Diagnostic Mechanic
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with heavy-duty trucks after obtaining the qualification.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty vehicles.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
