The role encompasses the effective planning, organising, coordination and control of the overall activities within a designated sales territory to achieve set objectives around, inter alia, volume, gross profit, credit extension to customers and growth. The incumbent is the key driver of growth within the sales territory, through understanding, embracing, and building customer relationships, sales and service excellence based on the current and future customer needs.

Responsibilities
  • Execute sales priorities as per performance contract with focus on volumes, margins, SHEQ and costs, contract management as well as accountabilities established in the role description.
  • Build strong, positive long-term customer relationships by understanding current and future business issues, markets, competition, and connect the customer stakeholders with the appropriate stakeholders in the Masana organisation.
  • Review customer contracts tenure proactively before expiry.
  • Ongoing customer account and relationship management, including ongoing marketing of the organisation within the region.
  • Provide market intelligence and work closely with the National Sales Manager to alert the organisation on any potential customer risk factors.
  • Manage and compile tenders and development of cost estimates for submission to existing business.
  • Compile business case and proposals for approval by the relevant project planning forum/committee.
  • Submit the business case and proposal to the customer.
  • Direct and manage project execution, including activation and controlling internal and external project resources.
  • Ensure the successful closure of the project, including final invoices, handovers, and documentation.
  • Manage various administrative duties that support the sales process and ensure proper updating and filing of customer information both manually and on the system.
  • Liaise with the various business units in order to achieve a coordinated customer experience.
  • Develop and manage, detailed and action based, key account plans aimed at Customer Relationship Management aligned to the Masana strategy, growing value for Masana and the customer, and ensuring service excellence.
  • Proactively prospecting for increase market share within existing and new customers in line with the CRT, SOE, and Manufacturing channel strategy through the use of a CRM tool.
  • Work closely with the CSC to ensure speedy customer collection and that order to invoice related customer issues are resolved by respective parties.
  • Communicate and network with the various business units in order to achieve a coordinated customer experience.
  • Utilise the various portals (fuel management) tools available to show customers the various reporting available to them to manage their largest input operational costs.
  • Ensure adherence to the Driving Safety Standards (DSS).
Qualifications and Experience
  • Essential: An undergraduate degree/National Diploma in Marketing/Sales and Commerce and/or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years Key Account Management experience in Sales, Marketing or Business Development.
  • Preferably in the petrochemical space.
  • Experience in Excel and systems (e.g., SAP).
