The RoleWe’re looking for a passionate and results-driven Salesperson New Building Solutions to join our Johannesburg branch. Reporting to the Business Development Manager
, you’ll spearhead sales of KONE’s cutting-edge elevator, escalator, and automatic building door solutions for new construction projects. You’ll work closely with architects, developers, and contractors, leveraging solution-selling methodologies to meet customer needs and achieve ambitious sales targets.
- Proactively build and nurture relationships with customers, architects, developers, and influencers.
- Promote KONE’s full product portfolio, demonstrating lifecycle value and digital offerings to create interest and meet customer needs.
- Strengthen KONE’s market position by generating leads and cross-selling opportunities for the broader sales team.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction by resolving complaints collaboratively with the KONE team.
- Maintain accurate customer, influencer, and contact data in KONE’s CRM system.
- Generate leads, opportunities, orders, and contracts to meet sales budgets and pricing targets, ensuring optimal market pricing.
- Identify customer needs and design tailored solutions, collaborating with Customer Solutions Engineering (CSE) for non-standard tenders.
- Conduct pre-tender and pre-booking reviews, ensuring seamless sales-to-operations handovers with complete, accurate information.
- Communicate the importance of site readiness to customers and include it in contracts.
- Validate order details, including terms, conditions, quality, and safety, aligning with negotiation outcomes.
- Take accountability for projects until order booking, ensuring correct project categorization at tendering.
- Support finance in money collection and provide timely, accurate reporting on opportunities, tasks, visits, and win/loss reasons.
- Gather and report market and competitor insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Execute individual sales plans with proactive, consultative customer visits.
- Diploma or higher in Business, Engineering, or a related field (advantageous).
- 3–5 years of technical sales experience in the elevator/escalator industry (preferred) or construction/building materials sector.
- Familiarity with solution-selling methodologies and complex technology solutions.
- Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and organized self-starter with a strong focus on customer service.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Technical understanding of building solutions; knowledge of elevators/escalators is a plus.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and data management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Diploma or higher in Business, Engineering, or a related field (advantageous).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Gauteng.
