Purpose of the Role

The Sales Executive will be responsible for driving sales growth, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring optimal in‑store execution across key retail partners in Johannesburg. This role requires a proactive individual with strong commercial acumen, exceptional organisational skills, and a passion for delivering results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets while managing budgets effectively.
  • Maintain a call rate of eight visits per day, ensuring strategic pre‑call planning and preparation.
  • Drive execution excellence through effective stock management, merchandising, shelf compliance, and in‑store visibility.
  • Build strong relationships with store managers, regional managers, and key stakeholders to maximise shelf space and promotional opportunities.
  • Negotiate in‑store displays, promotional activities, and retail pricing strategies.
  • Monitor and report on promotional performance, sales trends, and market dynamics.
  • Collaborate with merchandising partners and oversee in‑store execution standards.
  • Provide weekly and monthly sales performance reports with actionable insights for underperforming stores.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for product presentation, pricing, and promotional materials.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in FMCG field sales or retail account management.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Confident, assertive, and results‑driven with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and thrive under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, consumer behaviour, and market trends.
  • Proficiency in using digital reporting tools or tablets for call and data tracking.
