Senior SHEQ Officer Job Johannesburg area,South Africa,Quality Assurance

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior SHEQ Officer to take ownership of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality functions within the business. This role is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the Quality Management System and Occupational Health and Safety Management System in line with ISO standards, while promoting a strong culture of quality and safety across all operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain, implement, and improve the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001
Maintain, implement, and improve the Occupational Health and Safety Management System in line with ISO 45001
Manage industrial client safety files and statutory compliance documentation
Ensure technical and site staff are site-ready, including medicals, inductions, and mandatory training
Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and implement mitigation measures
Investigate incidents, manage non-conformances, and drive corrective and preventative actions
Facilitate internal and external audits and support management review meetings
Develop, maintain, and control SHEQ documentation, procedures, and records
Deliver SHEQ training and assess staff competency
Monitor SHEQ KPIs and ensure accurate reporting and record-keeping
Promote a proactive, safety-first culture across the organisation

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field
Formal training in ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
Formal training in ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
