We are currently seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Control Inspector specialising in Plating to join our quality assurance team on a 3 - 6 month fixed-term contract basis.

Job Purpose: The QC Inspector (Plating) is responsible for ensuring that all plated components meet specified quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory specifications. The role focuses on inspection, testing, and verification of plating processes and finished products to ensure compliance with internal procedures, industry standards, and applicable quality systems.

• Conduct in-process and final inspections of plated components in accordance with specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
• Measure coating thickness, adhesion, appearance, and finish using appropriate testing equipment.
• Inspect for defects such as blistering, peeling and uneven coating.
• Verify surface preparation and post-plating treatments meet required standards.

• Ensure plating processes comply with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable standards.
• Identify non-conforming products and initiate corrective and preventive actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the plating and quality functions.

• Accurately complete inspection reports and quality records.
• Maintain traceability and ensure inspection data is properly filed and controlled.
• Report quality issues, trends, and recurring defects to the Senior Quality Technician.

• Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to plating operations. Ensure safe handling of chemicals and correct use of PPE.
• Post Matric Qualification in Quality Control
• Must have a minimum of 2 years work experience in quality inspection in a manufacturing or factory environment.
• Sound understanding of plating processes and quality requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret inspection results.
• Familiarity with inspection tools.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
