They are currently seeking an experienced Vehicle Buyer with a specialization in trucks and yellow metal to enhance their inventory and meet market demand. BAsed in Johannesburg.

Position Overview:As the Vehicle Buyer, you will play a key role in sourcing and purchasing trucks and yellow metal equipment specifically for resale. You'll leverage your expertise to acquire high-quality vehicles that align with inventory goals and customer preferences, working closely with the sales and inventory teams to ensure a balanced and appealing product mix.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure used trucks and yellow metal equipment from auctions, trade-ins, and direct purchases.
• Analyze and respond to market trends, ensuring a strategic selection of inventory that meets customer demand.
• Negotiate competitive pricing and terms with suppliers to optimize value.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with industry suppliers and partners.
• Collaborate with the sales and inventory teams to manage stock levels and maintain an ideal mix of products.
• Conduct quality assessments to ensure all vehicles meet the dealerships resale standards.
• Track inventory performance and adjust sourcing strategies as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in sourcing and buying trucks and yellow metal equipment.
• Proven knowledge of the used truck and yellow metal equipment market.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to assess vehicle quality accurately and determine resale potential.
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Valid drivers license and willingness to travel as necessary for sourcing.
