Financial Manager JHB

Overview

Our client is looking for a Finance Manager with experience in Hospitality for a prestigious golf club.

• Overall financial management through the execution of the financial operating plan and strategy for the short, medium, and long-term.
• Develops and monitors standard operating processes/procedures, internal controls, and financial operations systems to manage the day-to-day operations of the finance department. Directs operations to meet financial and operational targets.
• Serves as the management liaison to the Board of Directors and audit committee by effectively communicating and presenting critical financial matters. Advises the General Managers and other key members of senior management on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters.
• Manages the income statements, balance sheets, budgets, and reserves. Ensures compliance with the appropriate accounting standards in line with a Non-Profit Company (NPC).
• Prepares management reports for the Board of Directors.
• Facilitates internal and external audits.
• Asset management.
• Regularly reviews Financial Risk Management Reports focusing on Association impact/concerns, legal compliance, governance, asset management, and reserve management.
• Works closely with IT Manager to ensure the latest technological advances are implemented to meet the Estate’s needs.

• Formal accounting qualification.
• Professional accounting body registration.
• Experience with IT contingency planning and business continuity, business systems, and related technologies.
• 5 - 7 years’ of financial management experience.
• Must be comfortable with public speaking.
