Overview

The Associate Supervisor will oversee the management of a department within the South Africa Warehouse organization to ensure our clients receive the highest possible service. They will be responsible for ensuring service levels and business targets are achieved whilst keeping safety and quality at the heart of the operation. The Warehouse Supervisor will drive the South Africa Warehouse strategy and coach and develop the team to be high performing and deliver results.

you will do
  • Lead a diverse team of up to 8 direct reports.
  • Support the Warehouse Manager in achieving business targets and objectives with direct responsibility for the returns department.
  • Coordinate daily work assignments and delegate tasks to team members based on operational priorities and workload requirements.
  • Conduct daily team briefings to assign responsibilities, communicate priorities, and ensure clear understanding of shift objectives.
  • Plan and allocate daily tasks among warehouse staff to optimize workflow and ensure operational targets are met.
  • Collaborate with neighboring functions to exceed the customers’ expectations.
  • Analyse performance and identify continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders at local and regional level.
  • Develop talent and create an environment where employees can flourish.
  • Ensure team members are trained and competent in all activities undertaken.
  • Drive engagement to align with the company’s culture.
  • Promote a safe working environment and champion quality.
  • Be an expert in departmental process.
  • Any other reasonable request in line with the operational needs of the business.
What you need

Required:

  • Matric
  • Diploma/Relevant Tertiary qualification/certificate, NQF 6 (or equivalent)
  • Professional Working Proficiency in English communication
  • 3 – 5 years' Experience leading a diverse team in a warehouse environment
  • LEAN Six Sigma Green or Black belt qualification is an advantage
  • A working knowledge of Warehouse processes and ERP/WMS (JDE or similar) is essential
  • Demonstrated Advanced EXCEL proficiency such as VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and other formulas

Preferred:

  • Tertiary Education i.e. College or University
