Head of the Social Entrepreneurship Portfolio

We are seeking a highly credible, values-driven and strategically minded Head of Social Entrepreneurship to lead and strengthen our Social Entrepreneurship portfolio within the Post-Investment Value Creation (PIVC) Team. Reporting directly to the Chief Portfolio Officer (CPO), the role is responsible for ensuring that Social Enterprises receive high-quality, context-appropriate, and outcomes-oriented value creation support that enables both financial resilience and measurable social impact.

E Squared’s Social Entrepreneurship Team provides program-specific grant funding to Social Enterprises as well as blended financing for Hybrid Social Enterprises (HSEs) through Venture Philanthropy (VP), a high-engagement approach that integrates venture capital methodologies with philanthropic goals, blending financing and non-financial support, to enhance social impact. VP utilises a range of financial instruments, from grants to equity and hybrid models.

The portfolio spans a diverse range of mission-led portfolio companies operating across multiple sectors, business models, and stages of maturity—often within resource-constrained or systemically complex environments. As such, this role requires a sophisticated balance of commercial discipline, impact integrity and systems thinking.

The Head of Social Entrepreneurship will lead a team of Value Creation Managers (VCMs) and analysts, shape and continuously refine the Social Entrepreneurship Value Creation framework, and serve as a strategic thought partner to the CPO on portfolio-level priorities, risk, and opportunity. The role may also include participation on select boards or advisory committees of portfolio companies, contributing governance oversight and strategic guidance at critical inflection points
