Position: ZONE CONTROLLER

Our Johannesburg branch based in Kempton Park is looking for an experienced Zone Controller.

Job Requirement
  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Must be reliable and punctual
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, such and shift handover plans and execution.
  • Vehicle and Fleet knowledge.
  • 3 to 5 years operational distribution experience required.
  • MS Office experience and Pivot Tables knowledge
Duties and Responsibilities Nationally

You are tasked with and responsible for, but not limited to, performing the following duties as Zone Controller. All performance appraisals and disciplinary enquiries will be based upon, but not limited to these:

  • Follow all reasonable and legal instructions given to you by Senior Management
  • Be polite, respectful and courteous to everyone you come into contact with
  • Never respond aggressively or rudely, even if provoked
  • Lead and motivate the Driver & Zone Team to ensure that they are perform efficiently and productively.
  • Provide training for all Driver & assistant staff
  • Arrange regular meetings with the Operations Team to motivate, train and get feedback on issues experienced.
  • Supervise and monitor the daily activities of all Drivers & Assistants.
  • Minimise and eliminate shortages / misroutes and damages.
  • Update and Share reporting data and sheets.
  • Disciplining of the staff in your zone.
  • Ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly reports required are accurate and submitted on time
  • Ensure that all staff members are wearing full uniform every day.
  • Assist the Customer Service Department with requests and queries to ensure overall Customer satisfaction.
  • Always maintain a level of courteous professionalism in all communication and correspondence with Clients, Agents and Staff members.
  • Monitor Over time, Update BOT ERS sheets.
  • Work hand in hand with Fleet manager / assistant to optimize fleet.
  • Interdepartmental communication flow.
  • Familiarize yourself on Retail division operations & bookings.
  • Ensure dispatch cutoff times are met daily.
  • Monitor staff absenteeism & leave.
  • Delivery and Collection S.L.A to be maintained
  • Housekeeping
  • Pre-Alerts to be actioned and responded to.
  • Monitoring and Supervising hired in staff members and monitoring / recording their timekeeping.
  • Vehicle monitoring and tracking.
  • Escalate incidents to management & risk management.
  • Verbal up dating in SQL hourly and daily.
  • Updating system reason codes.
  • Allocate & distribute collections.
  • Any reasonable work related instruction from management.
