Market Insights and Competitive Analysis
- Deliver market insight reports for specific verticals based on trends, market size, core use cases, pain points, and other demand-related information.
- Lead pre-sales engagement with key customer decision-makers, communicate in the customer’s language to build trust, uncover genuine needs, and generate qualified sales opportunities.
- Develop tailored solutions aligned with customer requirements. Define appropriate product selection strategies, POC (Proof of Concept) testing approaches, bidding strategies, and product configuration plans to secure contract signings and continuously increase Alibaba Cloud’s share within the account.
- Drive the incubation and scalable replication of public cloud solutions across targeted verticals.
- Document and standardize reusable cloud architecture templates and industry-specific case studies.
- Conduct solution evangelism, training, and enablement sessions for internal sales teams and ecosystem partners.
- End-to-end support of regional public cloud projects—from opportunity identification through project delivery—to improve win rates for major deals, capture best practices, and develop replicable industry solutions and business models.
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Ecosystem teams to execute go-to-market initiatives aligned with regional strategies.
- Partner with Product Operations and Sales Operations to drive public cloud revenue growth and deepen market penetration in priority countries, jointly achieving assigned public cloud targets with Business Development (BD) counterparts.
- Participate in and support public cloud market research, competitive intelligence analysis, and formulation of market expansion strategies for the Africa region.
- Pre‑sales, development, or operations experience in internet or software companies.
- Sales‑oriented Solutions Architect (SA):
- Project delivery and architecture practical experience:
Demonstrated experience—either as a key contributor or leader—in end‑to‑end medium‑to‑large‑scale IT projects (e.g., cloud migration, system relocation, application modernization, digital transformation); ability to translate customer requirements into implementable technical architectures and guide execution to successful completion. - Cross‑industry and multi‑scenario expertise:
Proven track record designing solutions for diverse customer sectors—including finance, internet, retail, and government—and deep familiarity with typical use cases such as cloud adoption, microservices modernization, and big data/AI platform construction. - Experience participating in major project tenders; strong understanding of the bidding and tendering process; accumulated practical insights into replicating and scaling industry‑specific solutions.
- Fluent in English as a working language; capable of delivering client‑facing presentations grounded in clear methodologies and real‑world experience—effectively building trust, uncovering deeper customer needs, and accelerating sales progress.
- Willingness and readiness to be based full‑time in Africa; resilient, adaptable, and highly collaborative—with excellent communication and coordination skills to navigate both intra‑ and inter‑team dynamics and foster win‑win cross‑functional collaboration.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience; prior Alibaba Group experience (1+ year) is strongly preferred.
