Overview

Hire Resolve’s client is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Analyst to join their team in Johannesburg. As a Senior Test Analyst, you will be responsible for leading and executing testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and reliability of software products.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise in software testing methodologies, test strategy development, test planning, and test execution. You will play a crucial role in driving quality improvements and ensuring that the software meets the highest standards.

Responsibilities

Create test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on the project requirements and technical specifications.

Execute test cases and record test results, document defects, and track their resolution using test management tools.

Perform various types of testing, including functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and performance testing.

Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand software requirements and user stories.

Lead and mentor junior test analysts, providing guidance and support in testing methodologies and best practices.

Participate in test design and requirement review meetings to provide inputs on testability and test coverage.

Conduct root cause analysis of defects and work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution.

Track and communicate testing progress, risks, and issues to project stakeholders.

Continuously improve test processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Test Analyst, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.

Strong knowledge of software testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices.

Experience in creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

Proficiency in using test management tools such as Test Rail, JIRA, or similar.

Solid experience in executing various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and diagnose defects.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

ISTQB or related certifications are highly desirable.
