A pharmaceutical organisation urgently requires the services of a strategic and future focussed IT Manager to join their small team in South Africa, which forms part of a global team. R40 000 neg per month. Your experience developing scalable and enterprise-level applications is crucial to be successful in this role. This is a full-time in-office opportunity working Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.
This opportunity reports to theCFO.
Responsibilities- Programming & Development:
Strong proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks including C, C#, Java, Python, PHP, Node.js, React, and Vue.js, with experience developing scalable, enterprise-level applications. - Database Management:
Advanced SQL expertise, including entity-relationship modelling, cardinality, performance optimisation, and maintaining high-availability data environments. - Networking:
Hands‑on experience with enterprise networking technologies such as Cisco, Fortinet, and Sophos, including physical network installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting. - Cloud Computing:
Proven experience in virtual machine (VM) setup, deployment, and maintenance across major cloud platforms, with working knowledge of cloud‑native services and infrastructure management. - Cybersecurity:
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, security frameworks, threat detection, vulnerability management, and regulatory compliance standards. - Data Analytics:
Ability to analyse complex datasets, extract actionable insights, and support data‑driven decision‑making using contemporary analytics tools. - ERP Systems & Integrations:
Experience in ERP system implementation, customisation, and integration with enterprise applications to optimise and streamline business processes.
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related IT discipline.
- Exposure to or certification in Artificial Intelligence (AI) or machine learning would be highly advantageous.
- 5 years’ relevant experience, preferably within a corporate or enterprise environment of which at least 2 years' experience working as a Team Leader or Manager.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- CompTIA certifications (Network+, Security+, Cloud+)
- Certified Information Systems Professional (CISP) or similar
- Cloud Computing certifications
- Cybersecurity-related certifications
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and contribute to complex IT projects, delivering quality outcomes under tight deadlines.
- A continuous learner mindset, staying up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
- Office hours Monday to Friday (8am - 5pm) 1 hour lunch break.
- 15 days annual leave and usually closes between Christmas and New Year.
- Bonus after 1 year service, performance based.
