Position: Application Support Technician / Engineer

Application Support Technician/Engineer at Kuba is responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware problems for enterprise customers. The role involves remote support, hands‑on training, documentation, troubleshooting, and occasional on‑site assistance. Speed, accuracy, and excellent customer service are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as Level 2 support for customers via phone or email.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques.
  • Build and maintain customer datasets using the Kuba platform.
  • Implement projects, train users, and conduct regression testing of hardware and software.
  • Set up and pre‑stage hardware and software.
  • Draft and maintain technical documentation.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to higher‑level support and the management team.
  • Record incidents and updates in JIRA; maintain logs and timelines within SLA limits.
  • Exchange written or verbal instructions with clients; resolve issues through phone, email, or chat.
  • Coordinate with engineering to resolve escalated incidents.
  • Submit weekly timesheets to the line manager.
  • Document knowledge in Confluence knowledge articles.
  • Maintain internal and external relationships and comply with ISMS and legal regulations.
  • Carry out ad‑hoc duties as requested.
Skills & Attributes
  • Strong foundation in IT, including operating systems, databases, networking, and scripting.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for application‑related issues, with clear root‑cause analysis.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts to non‑technical users.
  • Customer‑service mindset: patient, empathetic, and professional.
  • Time‑management and prioritisation in a multi‑issue environment.
  • Adaptability and continuous learning; staying current with evolving technology.
  • Accurate documentation and reporting of support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.

  • Attention to detail and meticulous execution.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years experience in TaaS or SaaS in the transport sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
  • Strong knowledge of database systems, SQL and scripting.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail‑oriented, able to multitask and prioritise effectively.
  • Alone and team working ability.
  • Accountable and customer‑focused, aligning with Kuba’s pillars.
